This project included a combination of selective demolition at an operating facility, phased construction, and renovations to an existing facility. Attention to sequence of work was a high priority to ensure continuous uninterrupted plant operation with no change to effluent or water quality. There was also the construction of a new three storey sludge dewatering building. This was built on a one meter thick raft slab with a full basement, structural steel frame, block walls and a brick fa§ade. Renovations were completed on the four existing gas digesters including new roof slabs and equipment, and installation of a new electrical service for the facility. Repairs were completed to the primary clarifiers and a new structural slab was constructed over the sediment tanks.
