The All Saints Catholic High School is located on a 16 acre site, in the Kanata Lakes area of Ottawa. This 15,329m2 facility includes a multi-storey concrete core incorporating teaching areas, science and technology labs, administrative offices, and a one storey structural steel wing that houses the gymnasium, auditorium/cafeteria, fitness rooms, and music rooms. As Construction Manager, RECL faced difficult challenges with the project site being granite bedrock and low bearing soil. There was collaborative coordination with municipal officials regarding the proposed major alteration to an existing park that included a 70 car paved parking lot, new running track, bicycle path, and the associated servicing. RECL successfully managed this “Fast Track†project while maintaining the standards of quality.
