In February 2001, RECL was retained as the Construction Manager for the new David Azrieli Pavilion and Lecture Theatres. The project involved the construction of a new 4 storey Classroom building and a two level four Lecture Theatre building. The Lecture Theatre building is interconnected with the Tory Building, and the classroom building is interconnected with the existing tunnel system. Construction required positioning the buildings in the space between the existing Dunton Tower and Tory Building, and coordination with existing tunnels/buildings and their respective systems. Elevation changes between and within the buildings all contributed to a complicated, yet very interesting project.
