Carling Square is a landmark office complex located on the north side of Carling Avenue, between Bronson Avenue and Preston Street. Tower One, a six storey building (5,284m²), was built in 1973. Tower Two, a ten storey building (8,680m²), was built in 1974. A single storey link at grade between the two buildings was completed in 1995. Parking is provided at grade, in an underground parking garage and at two nearby parking lots. A comprehensive renovation program began at Carling Square in November 2006. The program encompassed all major building components, including a complete upgrade of the mechanical and electrical systems, installation of new ground floor glazing, ceiling grid, ceiling tiles, elevator machinery, washrooms, and barrier-free washrooms. Sequential fit-up construction, for PWGSC, began in the fall of 2007. This process allowed for staggered tenant occupancy with full occupancy completed in April 2008. Both office towers include the standard open/closed office spaces, administrative service areas, boardrooms, and kitchenettes. The link between the towers was designed and equipped to serve as the commissionaire security station.
